Preston Future City

Future City – the festival that will celebrate business, commerce and Preston - will be a space for debate, celebration and performances. Over a ten day period ten years as a city will be celebrated with balls, exhibitions, workshops, outdoor activities and a 3,000-seater arena that promises a great programme including comedy and music from rock and pop to dance and indie.

On the last weekend the baton will be handed over to young people with a Youth Expo that showcases the skills, passion and talent of young people today. The full programme will be confirmed in 2012. Future City will be the focal point of the celebrations and is likely to attract more than 200,000 visitors over the 10-day period.

Programming at Future City is supported by the Arts Council England and Legacy Trust and will feature local, national and international artists from a variety of genres. It will also be the venue for the grand finale performance of the North West Cultural Olympiad programme, featuring Les Commandos Percu for a firework finale with a difference.
